1. The Federal Government has traced fleeing Binance executive, Nadeem Anjarwalla, to Kenya, following his escape from custody in Nigeria. Following the development, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the International Criminal Police, the Nigeria Police Force and the Kenyan Police Service have deepened talks to quicken Anjarwalla’s extradition.

2. The Lagos State Police Command has said a total number of seven persons have lost their lives to accidental drowning in different parts of the state this week. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

3. In response to the academic certificate forgery allegation levelled against him recently, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has told the All Progressives Congress screening committee for the upcoming governorship election in the state that his credentials are genuine. The governor said this on Friday when he became the first aspirant to be cleared by the APC screening committee.

4. The Nigeria Police Force on Friday said 1,346 suspects have been arrested for various offences, including murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, gun running, and rape, nationwide. The police also said they recovered and seized 143 firearms, 741 ammunition, 72 stolen vehicles and have rescued 461 kidnapped victims across the country.

5. An Ikeja Special Offences Court heard yesterday how the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele on different occasions used his former dispatch rider, who later became a member of the apex bank’s staff, to collect $3 million cash in tranches. The CBN employee, Monday Osasuwa, made the disclosure while giving evidence before Justice Rahman Oshodi.

6. Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday sentenced popular cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, a.k.a. Bobrisky to six months in jail with no option of fine for abusing the naira.

7. President Bola Tinubu on Friday assured that the nation’s economy will roar back to glory in the coming months, re-echoing the fact that the worst is over in the economic travails being faced by the nation. Tinubu however called for unity of purpose and more collaboration between the federal government, state governors, and members of the National Assembly to achieve national development goals.

8. The Police Command in Kano has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged beheading of a minor, Mohammed Saidu, by an almajiri at Kanwa village in Madobi local government area. Kano Police Commissioner, Usaini Gumel, on Friday, said the six-year-old Saidu was allegedly killed by a 16-year-old almajiri identified as Abdullahi.

9. Gunmen have kidnapped the Channels Television reporter in Rivers State, Joshua Rogers. Rogers was reportedly whisked away around 9 pm on Thursday in front of his residence at Rumuosi in Port Harcourt.

10. Marine Police of Anambra State Command have recovered bodies of the three remaining victims of the unfortunate boat accident involving a movie cast. According to the spokesman of Anambra State command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, two of the bodies were recovered on Thursday, while the last was washed to shore by tide on Friday.
