Osun Police alert residents of proposed blast in Ede

THE Osun State Police Command has notified the general public, especially residents of Ede town of a controlled blast that would be carried out tomorrow, Thursday, February 29, 2024.

A statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola on Wednesday, asked residents not to panic when the sounds from the blast scene are heard.

She said the activity was to ensure success of the ongoing road dualisation at Ede town.

“The Osun State Police Command wishes to notify the general public especially the residents of Oke-Gada Ede, Osun State that in view of the ongoing road dualization/construction at Ede town, there will be a controlled blast at the aforementioned area tomorrow, 29th February, 2024 which will be coordinated by the Osun Police Explosive Ordinance Department (EOD) to facilitate/enhance smooth and speedy construction of the road project by Osun State Ministry of Works.

“Therefore, members of the public, especially the residents of the area are advised to steer clear of the environment to prevent any unforeseen circumstances, while being enjoined not to entertain any kind
of fear/apprehension.

“The Police Command assures the members of public of adequate security of lives and property,” the statement read.
