In a significant development, Prince Adewale Oluwabukunmi Adeleke has clinched the esteemed title of Ajemba of Ijemba, situated in the Atakumosa East Local Government Area of Osun state.
The emergence of Prince Adewale Oluwabukunmi Adeleke as the new Ajemba of Ijemba was marked by a democratic process, where he secured a notable 5 votes. His competitors, Prince Adepoju Damilola Enitan, recorded 1 vote, while Prince Adejuyigbe Joel Adesegun and Prince Omuni Felix Olabode recorded zero votes, according to our sources.
High Chief Matthew Oginni, Risa Ajemba; High Chief Kehinde Adepoju Adewusi, Odofin Ajemba; High Chief Olatunji Dada, Sajiku Ajemba; High Chief Sunday Ayeni, Risikin Ajemba; Chief Hon. Olanipekun Segun, Saloro Ajemba; and Chief Olajide Olamiji, Saba Ajemba, acted as the kingmakers in this historic election, which took place on Thursday. The election outcome was duly ratified by the local government administration, under the leadership of Mr. Adebiyi Adedire.
Prince Adewale Oluwabukunmi Adeleke’s ascension to the position of Ajemba of Ijemba marks a significant transition, as he succeeds the late Oba Adepoju Ekemode, who passed away in September 2021.
Notably, Prince Adewale Oluwabukunmi Adeleke hails from the distinguished lineage of Oba Adewale Olaleye Alowolodu 1, representing the Bilaro Olu-Odo ruling house. His father previously occupied the esteemed throne before the demise of Oba Adepoju.
Confirming the legitimacy of Adewale’s election, Hon. Segun Olanipekun, an indigene of Ijemba, expressed his affirmation of the kingmaker’s decision and the subsequent appointment by the state government. This appointment heralds a new chapter in the governance and leadership of Ijemba, under the stewardship of Prince Adewale Oluwabukunmi Adeleke.
