UYO – FLOUR Mills of Nigeria (FMN) has said the rising prices on their range of products have become inevitable due to the biting impact of the spiralling Naira-Dollar rate to on the health of its business.
At a Customers, Sales Forum in Uyo with top direct buying Bakers, Baker-Dealers, and Corporate buyers in Akwa Ibom state, FMN Head of Sales, Business to Business, Mr John Maniatis, noted there is a clear economic crisis in the nation at the moment.
He told the worried customers, “These are very challenging times. There is definitely an economic crisis. These are very challenging times for the country. Definitely we are in a midst of economic crisis.”
On how the prevailing crisis directly affects FMN’s business, Maniatis admitted, “We are extremely challenged by what is going on with the Naira-Dollar rate.”
On a note of optimism, he told stakeholders, “However this is not the first crisis we are seeing. It is very serious but it’s not the first. Life moves in waves.
“Nigerians, we are all very, very resilient. And I know that although we are going through tough times, the good times are going to come back. I have no doubt about it. It is just a question of faith and perseverance.
During interactions on the engagement, customers who spoke acknowledged the challenges, which are common to virtually every business in the country at the moment, urging FMN to keep the interactions regular for mutual interest of managing the challenges together for sustainability of the business.
