South Africa coach, Broos plans Nigeria’s Super Eagles upset in AFCON

Voice Air Media, News Update

South Africa head coach, Hugo Broos says his team is determined to secure a berth in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations at the expense of Nigeria.

The Bafana Bafana earned a place in the last four after a thrilling 2-1 penalty shootout win against Cape Verde on Saturday.

Broos’ side will battle the Super Eagles for a place in the final at the Stade de Paix, Bouake, on Wednesday night.

The Super Eagles are no doubt the overwhelming favourites to win the game.

The Belgian is however banking on his side to stop the three-time champions.

“Reaching the semifinal is very special for South African football,” said the gaffer who led Cameroon to win the 2017 AFCON.

“Maybe we can make a surprise (vs Nigeria) now.

“The hunger is big to play the final next Sunday.”
