PDP Chairman Kidnapped, Abductors Demand N200m

Suspected kidnappers have abducted the Chairman, Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Philip Aivoji.

It was gathered that the abductors have demanded N200 million ransom.

The party chieftain was said to have been kidnapped on Thursday, January 25, at Ogere area along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway around 6pm, while coming back to Lagos from the PDP South-West Zonal meeting held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

It was further learnt that another member of the Lagos State PDP Exco, who was said to have escaped from being kidnapped, is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, said there was an abduction at the Bamboo area, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway inward Lagos.

She added that security personnel are on top of the issue and are making efforts to rescue the abducted victims while claiming not to know the identities of the kidnapped victims.

“Our men rescued some of the victims and are making efforts to reunite the others with their families,” she said.
