Ondo Collectives Call For Selection of Deputy Governor with a Human Touch – Appeals to Gov. Aiyedatiwa, APC

THE Ondo Collectives, a dynamic association rooted both in Ondo State and in the diaspora, extends condolences on the passing of former Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu. With the emergence of Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the new Governor, the association anticipates the

nomination of a Deputy Governor for the smooth running of governance as enshrined by the constitution.

In a message released on Friday, the association said; “In our earnest appeal to Governor Ayedatiwa and the All Progressives Congress (APC), we encourage the selection of a Deputy Governor characterized by a human touch—someone deeply rooted in community connection, possessing a commendable track record, and capable of collaborative efforts for the progress of Ondo State. As the burial arrangements for the former Governor unfold, we trust that due consideration will be given to this critical nomination, ensuring the appointment of an individual who resonates with the diverse aspirations of the state.

The Ondo Collectives remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that foster socio-political and economic development in Ondo State. We believe that a thoughtful selection for the Deputy Governor position will significantly contribute to the overall well-being of the state and its citizens”.

Ondo state Governor, Aiyedatiwa, took over the reign of power from his late principal, former governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, following his death in office.

Aiyedatiwa, was sworn into office by the State Chief Judge, Olusegun Odunsola, after taking the oath of allegiance on December 27, 2023.

Making it three weeks after, the governor had not announce or submit name to the state Assembly for confirmation of deputy governor to assist him in the day-to-day governance of the state.
