VOICE AIR MEDIA, News Update

THE host Cote d’Ivoire has won their opening match at the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) by beating Guinea Bissau 2-0 on Saturday night.

Seko Fofana gave Cote d’Ivoire an early lead when he latched on to a precise pass inside the box and sent in a superb strike that found its way inside the right post and hit the net.

Shortly before the end of the first half, Jean-Philippe Krasso was free in the box and Jonathan Bamba found him with a pass, but his powerful shot skimmed just past the right post.

The host scored their second goal in the 58th minute of the match. Jean-Philippe Krasso fired the rebound low into the middle of the goal after the ball broke to him in the box.

In the 74th minute, Franculino ran onto a loose pass inside the box and released a tremendous shot towards the left side of the goal. However, Yahia Fofana anticipated the shot and made a brilliant save.
