Osun retirees receive palliative money, shower blessings on Governor Adeleke

As promised by the Osun State Government, the payment of palliative for both serving and retired civil servants has commenced, as workers are commending Governor Ademola Adeleke for fulfilling his promises.

Governor Adeleke, in a press release issued by the spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, stated that the governor approved payment of palliative for both the serving and retired workers in Osun. A sum of N15,000 was approved for those still in active service, while N10,000 was approved for pensioners (both those in old pension scheme and contributory).

Affirming the payment and receipt of this money, the Permanent Secretary, Local Government Staff Pension Bureau, Mr Ibrahim Akibu said the local government staff pensioners and primary school teachers have received the money.

Mr Akibu made this disclosure in his office while answering questions from this medium. He said both the local government staff and primary school teachers who have retired have received the money.

Speaking further, the Permanent Secretary commended Governor Adeleke for not reneging in his promises made during the electioneering period, noting that the governor is not leaving any stone unturned.

“Mr Governor is a promise keeper. Regarding the prompt payment of pensioners, both those in old scheme and contributory, Mr Governor has been doing well. Just towards the end of last year, 2023, bonds of close to Three Billion naira (N3bn) were distributed to pensioners in Osun. No wonder these senior citizens gave His Excellency awards

“As we speak, both pensioners in state and local government have been receiving the palliative money promised by Mr Governor. Many of these retirees have been calling to pray Governor Adeleke and his administration. What we are witnessing is unprecedented.

“I can tell you unequivocally that the local government staff and primary school teachers who are retirees have received this palliative money. Also, the serving workers have gotten theirs too.”
