Ondo state Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has warned civil servants in the state against participating in partisan politics ahead of the governorship election in the state.
With the election fixed for November 16, 2024, Aiyedatiwa maintained that politicians should not see the forthcoming polls as a battle field or a “do-or-die affair.”
Aiyedatiwa, disclosed this on Tuesday during the annual prayer organised by civil servants in the state to mark the commencement of the first working day of the year.
The governor further maintained that the peace of the state is not negotiable, hence the game must be played by the rules.
“This is an election year; let everyone know that the peace of the state is not negotiable and the election is not a do-or-die affair.”
Meanwhile, the governor disclosed that, to address the existing gaps in the healthcare system of the state, health workers will be recruited.
While stating that the measure will strengthen the health sector of the state, he stressed that the approval for the recruitment had already been granted, adding that the existing vacancies within the sector will be filled.
