Thirty-year-old Olukanyinsola Odebode has been sentenced to 12 years in prison in the United Kingdom after being convicted of r+ping one woman and s+xually assa¥lting another while he was on bail.
Odebode was found guilty at Swansea Crown Court of one count of r@pe and two counts of assa¥lt by penetration following a trial. The court subsequently imposed an extended sentence after determining that he continued to pose a serious risk to the public.
According to reports, the offences took place between June 2024 and September 2025. Odebode first r@ped and s+xually assa¥lted a woman in the Gwent Police area before he was arrested and released on bail.
While on bail, he went on to s+xually assa¥lt another woman in the Dyfed-Powys Police area, the court heard.
During the sentencing proceedings, prosecutor Mark Wyeth KC described Odebode as a d@nger to women and said his actions had left the victims with life-changing consequences.
The court also heard that seven other women had raised concerns about Odebode’s s+xual behavior with police since 2019. Their reports included allegations of r@pe, s+xual assa¥lt, indecent exposure and stalking, although none resulted in convictions.
One victim described Odebode as “very predatory”, while prosecutors said his actions had humiliated and degraded the women. Victim impact statements were also presented to the court, detailing the lasting effects of his offences on the victims.
Judge Huw Rees sentenced him to nine years in custody followed by three years on licence, ruling that an extended sentence was necessary because of the risk he posed to the public. Odebode must serve two-thirds of his custodial term before he can apply for release, with the Parole Board deciding whether he is safe to be released.
Odebode will remain on the sex offenders’ register for life. The court also heard that he had no previous convictions before the offences for which he was convicted.
