…as Gov. Adeleke, Yeye Dupe Adeleke, Babayemi, DAB, Efe, Masilo, and others received Award
The Brave Women Progressive Association also Known as (Akoni Obinrin) under the leadership of Evang. Matilda Dele Farinde on Saturday 23rd December, 2023 held its 40th years existence of the Association, the event which was held Aurora event center was full to its capacity as people troop out to celebrate with the founder and President of the Association, Evang. Matilda Farinde, one the prominent individuals in the society who have positively contributed to the growth and development of the society and have made a noticeable impact in their respective fields of endeavors was honored with the meritorious Award of Excellence, among the awardee governor Ademola Adeleke, Yeye Dupe Adeleke Sanni, Dr. Bayonle(DAB), Prince Dotun Babayemi, Hon. Abosede Ogo-Oluwakitan, Alhaji Chief Kamarudeen Yusuf Efe, Mr. Jelili, Baba Masilo and other La -crum-da-crum in the society.
Farinde used the occasion to distribute wheelchairs and other items to people with disability.
In her welcome address, Farinde thanked God for upholding her and the association till the present, she applauded its members for their steadfastness, dedication, and commitment to the association, and she promised not to relent in contributing her quota to humanity.
According to her, “I am very happy today December 23rd that I am alive witnessing more years ahead.
” I left OAU to just take the cross of God and from there, BRAVE WOMEN came in through my vision. Since then, I have been singlehandedly running the program up to date. I give glory to God that the Association of BRAVE WOMEN is 40 years old today.
“I participated fully in the political Engineering process that brought Osun State to reality out of Oyo State and I did a lot in making the LATE M.K.O. Abiola win Osun State. Since then, I have raised many children and I thank God today that many of them have gone far in the act of Weaving, Sewing, Hairdressing, and Baking Cake among others.
“Significantly, I did a lot to make my Late Governor Adetunji Adeleke of blessed memory to become Governor in Osun State, among many others to mention but few. I give God the glory.
“The God people of Osun State, Mothers, and Fathers, all I want to say is that anything you want to do or you are doing in life, LET LOVE LEAD, love your neighbors, always check on people in your community, your town and people around you. Also, we need to know that giving is more cherished able God and the attitude of giving must be our priority. Remember that, what you do to others, God Almighty will do unto you in ten Folds.
“It will interest you to note that our Association of Brave Women is not a political organization but, an organization that is used to render help to the needy such as widows, orphans, the Poor, the sick, the Physically Challenged, and the less privileged.
“Central to our activities is that we usually work with any government in power to create better governance for the people through empowerment, engagement, and other poverty alleviation programs.
“I am giving God Almighty the honor and glory for Osun State because it is identified as the most peaceful state in Nigeria and I pray that God Almighty will be with every one of us, protect and guide us in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen, and the name of Almighty Allah, Ameen. Long live His Excellency, Long live His Majesty, and Long live the good people of Osun State. She concluded.
In his remarks on behalf of Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, the representative of the governor at the event, Mr. Sola Ajala, applauded the Association President and its members for their commitment and dedication towards lifting others and protecting the rights of women in the society, he urged them not to relent in contributing their quota to the society. He also appreciated the association for bestowing a Meritorious Award of Excellence to Governor Ademola Adeleke.
In the same vein, the representative of Yeye Dupe Adeleke Sanni, Hon. Lukman Afolabi(Abere some) the Chairman of Ede South, commended the President of the Association Evang. Matilda Farinde for her contributions to society all this while, he described her as a generous and enigma woman who always wants the best for the people around her and the people in the society. He also commends the members of the association for standing with Evang. Farinde all this while, advised them not to relent in their commitment and dedication towards the betterment of society. He thanked the President and the members of the Association for bestowing a Meritorious Award of Excellence to Yeye Dupe Adeleke Sanni.
In his Royal Message, the Olororuwo of Ororuwo, HRM Oba Kamorudeen, applauded the President of the Association Evang. Matilda Farinde for her commitment and dedication to better the lives of the downtrodden people in society and he urged her not to relent in assisting others.
The Ataoja of Osogbo, HRM Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun (Larooye II) ably represented by one of his Chiefs, he commended the President of the Association for assisting the less privileged people in the society, he advised her not to to to to relent in contributing to the development of humanity as there is always a reward for kindness.
