On Wednesday, December 20, 2023 SOJ Worldwide Online News won the Osun Online Influencing Platform Of The Year, Insight Media emerged as the Osun Online Community Impact Reporting Platform, while Voice Air Media (VAM) clinched the Investigative Platform of the Year, courtesy of Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) on the occasion of the maiden edition of the Osun Digital Media Week.
A public lecture/award, was held in honour of the media association at the Ben-Bar Event Hall, Osogbo, Osun capital with the theme, “Digital Media and Climate Action; The Nexus”.
The keenly contested awards was anchored by the Former NUJ Chairman in Osun State, Mr Kehinde Ayantuji, Deputy Editor of Osun Defender, Ismaeel Uthman, and The Point Correspondent, Timothy Agbor.
The Jurists commended the tenacity of all the nominees for each category, and encouraged them to do more.
Other winners from different categories includes; Akogun Lere Oyewumi as Osun Best Senator of the year, Hon. Bamidele Salam, the Best House of Representative member of the year 2023, Adewumi Adeyemi Irekandu was voted Osun Best Assembly Member, Chief Sarafat Odelade (Osun Best Special Adviser) and Comrade Waheed Saka (Activist of the Year).
Others are; Engr Kehinde Raji (Philanthropist of the Year), Sarafa Ibrahim (Osun Media Aide of the year 2023), Osun Local Government Chairman of the year (West) went to Hon. Lukman Afolabi of Ede South, Hon. Sharafadeen Abiodun Awotunde of Ifelodun LG as best Chairman from Osun Central and ArtDeco as the corporate brand of the year.
