Opinion: Where Are The 2023 Electoral Prophets Of Doom? By Adesoji Omosebi

VAM News update

THIS should have come before this time but because the Bible says no one should grieve the Holy Spirit and the word of God also says every sin can be forgiven but the sin against the Holy Spirit.

I waited this long for the Supreme Court to deliver its final judgement in the legal battles against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by the Presidential Candidates of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party.

If there is anything God did for Nigeria as a nation in the 2023 general elections, it was the separation of men of God from fake Pastors, Prophets and General Overseers who called themselves for material and political gains.

These fake Prophets of Doom are the replica of those whom our Lord Jesus Christ chased away for buying and selling in the House of God.

They have turned themselves to the 450 Prophets of Baal Elijah destroyed.

They turned what is supposed to be the Altar of God to Bazaars where the highest bidders win the souls of gullible Nigerians. They defiled the Altars of God with lies, fake prophesies, turned the churches to political rostrum where they campaigned for their preferred candidates while they issued curses and spells for opposition candidates. They are agents of confusion.

These fake Prophets have forgotten that the only reason Christ came was to salvage the lost souls into the Kingdom of God.

They have forgotten that they ought to be fathers of all without exception. They planted hate speeches from the House of God to the admiration of members who cannot differentiate between their left and right.

These Prophets of doom started with former President Muhammadu Buhari, they said he was going to die before his Second Term election but Buhari became stronger and healthier. He did not only win his Second Term, he finished it successfully.

When they failed in their bids to stop Buhari, they descended on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he chose a Muslim as his running mate. There are campaigns of calumny against him that he wanted to Islamise Nigeria. With the various appointments made so far by Tinubu, has it shown any iota of Islamization of the country?

One even boasted that if a governorship Candidate wins in Akwa Ibom, one of his hands be cut off, the man won, the whereabouts of the false Prophet is yet to be known.

I was stupified when one ‘Prophet’ said he doesn’t know why Tinubu has not been poisoned. Another one said the election will not hold, another one sworn that Tinubu will die before the election. Some said if he wins the election, there will be trouble and bloodshed in Nigeria and Interim Government will be put in place and Peter Obi will be sworn-in as the next President.

The election came, Tinubu was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). All the prophesies failed giving credence to the fact that God did not send them.

The opponents appealed against the judgement at the lower court, these relentless Prophets still said Tinubu would lose. He won.

At the Supreme Court, all the seven Justices ruled against the opponents of Tinubu. The Supreme Court affirmed Tinubu as true the winner of the February 25, 2023 Presidential Election.

The implications of their prophesies was to make God a liar but God cannot be mocked.

These fake Prophets went as far as going to the mountain to pray against and issues curses against Tinubu. Some placed his photos on the expressway for God to stop him but he was unstoppable.

This article is not about Tinubu, Obi or Atiku, it is about how those whom we looked up to as our role models descended so low for a pot of porridge.

I am ashamed of these political jobbers parading themselves as men of God. They should be ashamed of themselves. Members who worshipped in their churches should reflect about the conducts of their General Overseers, Pastors and Prophets in the 2023 general elections and take firm decisions if they would like to continue in their churches or not. The options available, is either to end up in hell or in heaven. This is a personal decision.

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) should address indiscipline in their ranks and files to make sure these ugly incidents do not repeat itself in future elections.

There should be an urgent law banning any form of forecasts or prophesies against any future elections to bring sanity into our polity. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo took a firm decision to ban the televising of voodoo miracles on our television sets during his tenure.

A real prophet will prophesy and it will come to pass immediately, we have the Biblical Elijah who prophesized that there would be stoppage of rain for seven days and it was so. Elisha said prizes of flour would drop drastically to two shekels the following day at the time there was hyper inflation in Samaria.  It was so, the official who doubted the prophesy was trampled upon at the gate  until he died according to the sayings of Elisha. We have a Prophet who prophesized that Zakariah would die but before he left the premises, God reversed the prophecy, he went back to tell Zakariah that God has added 15 more years. We have many more examples of men of God like Ezekiel, Amos, Prophet Ayodele Babalola of blessed memory and a host of others.

God Almighty shall renew the strength, anointing, wisdom and knowledge of true men of God who are working day and night to populate the Kingdom of God and those who are praying day and night for peace, progress and sanity to reign in Nigeria.

But for God, these fake Prophets would have set Nigeria ablaze. Jesus had foreseen these false Prophets in Matthew 24 when he was talking about the signs of the end-time,

“Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.”

I am not surprised that this is happening at this end time, Jesus Christ asked a fundamental question that no one has been able to answer,

“….Luke 18:8 …Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”
