FG’s 15 Million Cash Transfer Set For Nigerians

VAM News Update

By October, the federal government intends to launch a new cash transfer program for 15 million households, according to Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Dr. Betta Edu.

She revealed this in an interview with AriseTv for the Progress Report on Nigeria’s attendance at the 78th General Assembly session.

When asked about the Nigerians’ implications of the FG’s attendance in the UNGA 78, she responded,

“We met with the World Bank, and very soon we’ll announce the expansion of the national safety net program, which will put money in the hands of more than 15 million households in Nigeria.

These are real monies, and people can use them to establish enterprises and better their lives. This will occur in October next year.
