Iwoland: Balogun Jorjor To Celebrate Oyetola, Lamidi Adeosun, Dotun Babayemi, Others At Football Competition Final

The knockout stage of the football competition in Iwoland, hosted by Abeeb Muyiwa Abdulamid, well known as Balogun Jorjor, on Tuesday, ended with a match between ROVET FA Iwo and Supreme FC Iwo.

 

The match held at the Oluwo Stadium in Iwo culminated with a resounding 3-1 victory in favour of ROVET FA Iwo, securing their well-deserved place in the next round of the tournament.

 

The knockout stage saw participation from more than 26 fervent teams.

 

Speaking with newsmen, the organiser, Balogun Jorjor, thanked all participating teams and accorded special recognition to those who are advancing to the next round.

 

He expressed gratitude to the spectators for their support and thanked ROVET FA, urging them to continue their stellar performance in the upcoming matches.

He said the semi-final stage of the competition will hold at Lanre Adeleke Academy Stadium in Ile-Ogbo on September 26.

 

“This initiative stands as a beacon of unity, fostering camaraderie among the local governments within the vibrant Iwoland community,” he added.

 

 

Balogun Jorjor said the final will hold at Oluwo Stadium on October 1, 2023, in commemoration of Independence Day.

 

 

He said, “This auspicious event will encompass three key components: the championship showdown, an awards ceremony, and a benevolent free medical outreach program, all aimed at benefiting the local populace.

 

In an outstanding tribute to those who have significantly contributed to the development of sports and demonstrated unwavering dedication to the growth of youth, a select group of prominent and influential figures will be celebrated during the final ceremony.

 

“These distinguished personalities include the former Governor of Osun State, His Excellency Gboyega Oyetola, Lt. General Lamidi Adeosun (Rtd), Omooba Dotun Babayemi, Asler, Hon., Chief Ismail Diekola Adefowope, Dr. Tunde Alarape, Hon. Muyiwa Kulukulu, Hon. Giwa Quadri, Hon. Debo Badru Junior, Hon. Musa Freedom, Alhaja Mujidat Yayi Alooma, and the late Hon. Rasaki Asaliwa (Posthumous).
