Gov Akeredolu signs bill to create new LCDAs

Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has assented to the bill creating 33 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state.

During a brief ceremony, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oladiji Olamide, presented the bill to the Governor for approval.

Also present were the Parliamentary Secretary, Hon. Moyinoluwa Ogunwumiju, the Majority Leader, Hon. Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, and the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abayomi Akinruntan.

The bill, which had already been approved by the state House of Assembly, now has the legal support necessary for the establishment of LCDAs in Ondo State as a result of the Governor’s signature.

According to a statement signed by Richard Olatunde, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said the creation of these LCDAs is a significant step towards Governor Akeredolu keeping his campaign pledges and meeting the needs of the populace for improved grassroots development.
