Gunmen reportedly abduct Kaduna APC top official Kawu Yakassai

Mr. Kawu Yakassai, the Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna has abducted from his village in the Soba Local Government Area of the state.

 

Yakassai, according to reports, was abducted at about 9pm on Friday.

 

Reports indicated that the yet to be identified gunmen who abducted the APC chieftain have not contacted any member of his family or the Kaduna State APC leadership.

 

Reacting to the incident, Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, in a statement signed on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Shehu, urged security operatives to put to go after the kidnappers and ensure the safe rescue of the APC chieftain.

 

Gov. Sani also reiterated that his administration is commited to the safety of lives and property of all residents in the state.

 

He said this was why he has ordered recruitment of 7,000 vigilante operatives to complement the efforts of conventional security agencies in securing the state.
