Two Persons Arrested For Impersonating Police, Stealing In Osun

Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps have arrested two men, Isaiah Friday Ezekiel, 41 years old from Cross Rivers State, Calabar, and John Apata Koffi, 60 years from Togo.

Both men were arrested for impersonating police and stealing a bag of Cement at Eleweran Kajola Village Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The duo were arrested after a complaint was lodged at Amotekun Ife command on the activities of the suspects by the residents of the area and the operatives of Amotekun swung into action immediately and arrested the culprits after stealing a bag of cement with the Police uniform.

Confirming the arrests in Osogbo, the Amotekun Corps Commander Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi said the suspects were arrested after a complaint was lodged against them by the residents of the area for engaging in house burgling and partaking in illegal activities in the area.

“The operatives of Amotekun swung into action immediately and arrested them after stealing a bag of cement with a police uniform and an iron toy gun.

“During cross-examination, the suspect confessed to perpetrating the act and that they have been involved in such activities for a long time, and disguised as a police officer to extort the people,” Adewinmbi said.

The suspects have been handed over to the police for subsequent investigation and interrogation.
