Alhaji Mustapha Adamu Ubaidu, the marafan yamman zazzau, has been suspended by the Zazzau emirate for allegedly usurping legal authority.

He was put on leave for allegedly passing verdict without first seeking legal recourse for a crime allegedly committed by one Yusuf Yahaya Sabo of Anguwar Magajiya.

The Emirate Council meeting on July 3 was where the decision was made, according to Abdullahi Aliyu Kwarbai, the Emir of Zazzau’s media and publicity assistant.

The declaration said;

“Mustapha Adamu Ubaidu was placed on indefinite leave after being accused of breaking the law and acting unethically. The council has also heard and discussed several grievances from Anguwar Magajiya locals in Zaria city.

“As a result, the Zazzau Emirate Council has taken immediate action by suspending Alhaji Mustapha Adamu Ubaidu, Marafan Yamman Zazzau, from his traditional title indefinitely.”

“All district, village, and ward heads, as well as other traditional title holders within the emirate, are advised to refrain from breaching the code of ethics and resorting to vigilantism.”
