Microscopic handbag ‘smaller than grain of salt’ sells for $63,750

•The Ultimate in Bag Miniaturization

In a display of extreme fashion trends, a microscopic handbag, smaller than a grain of salt, has fetched an astonishing price of $63,750 (£50,569) at an auction. The tiny bag, measuring just 657 x 222 x 700 micrometers, requires a microscope to appreciate its design.

Created by the Brooklyn-based art collective MSCHF, known for its controversial designs, the microscopic handbag takes the concept of small purses to the absolute extreme.

The bag features the branding of luxury handbag designer Louis Vuitton, although it is not officially associated with the brand.

Crafted using photopolymer resin and 3D printing technology, the bag’s samples were so minuscule that some were even lost during the creation process. To ensure that the owner doesn’t lose this prized possession, a microscope with a digital display was included in the purchase.

MSCHF is renowned for pushing boundaries with its unconventional creations, which have included shoes containing human blood and trainers with holy water in the soles. This latest venture into the world of ultra-tiny fashion items showcases their unique approach to art and design.

While some may see this microscopic handbag as an audacious statement in the fashion world, others question the practicality and purpose behind such an item.

Nonetheless, MSCHF continues to challenge norms and provoke discussions with its thought-provoking creations.
