Fuel Subsidy, Long Overdue – Apostle Olugbenga Asiwaju Urges Tinubu To Speed-up Palliative Measures For Nigerians

Apostle Olugbenga Asiwaju, the planter of EL-OLAM International Christian Centre aka Word Embassy, has commended President Bola Tinubu for removing subsidy on fuel, saying it is long overdue.

The cleric who called on Federal government of Nigeria, to speed up the palliative measures that will cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal on the people, Nigerians.

Apostle Asiwaju made the call at a press briefing on Thursday in Akure, where he appealed to President to look into how to solve the pains and suffering of citizens and residents of the country over this policy.

According to the Man of God, “Fuel subsidy removal is long overdue. Former President Jonathan wanted to embark on it then, but some cabals sabotaged the move. Finally President Tinubu must be commended for taking the bold step of removing the fuel subsidy, but it’s ill timed without adequate preparations.”

“It is so sudden for the masses. He should have made enough provisions, like an increase in the salary of the workers, then most importantly stable Electricity supply, and enough palliative measures for the masses like; government buses, alternative means of transportation where necessary.”

He said, “now money spent on petrol I call it “agbana” when your finance is afflicted spiritually with 3 hours of running your generator #7000 fuel is gone and constant electricity supply is important to businesses.”

He said Tinubu’s government wants to save the poor, but the rich have enough to buy fuel, so the pains still fall on the poor.. “This issue must be looked into.”

While responding to Journalist, on the STUDENT LOAN.. Apostle Asiwaju said It’s a good idea, because so many App loan facilities have given some students bad names.

“But how many government loan facilities have succeeded in the past? Look at the one they did for the market women managed by Osinbajo… So much money went down the drain.”

“Secondly, you would discover that at the end of the day, the loan would only be circulated around the rich. Even you will discover that those that will obtain the loan are not Students. This is Nigeria corruption has sunk so so deep into our system..”

In his word, “except capable, able hands handle the loan and measures are put in place.. if not it is dead on arrival.”

The Apostle also called on Nigerians to always make positive confessions about Nigeria, and pray for her leaders and the country as a whole.
