Manchester United has been sold to the Qatari billionaire, Sheikh Jassim bn Hamad Thani after a successful bidding process.
The Old Trafford club has been subject of bid since the owners, Glazers family have put it on sale following backlash over management of the team.
Football journalist, Fabrizio Romano confirmed a tweet by Al-Watan, an organization owned by the Qatari billionaire.
He wrote, “Qatari outlet Al-Watan, an organisation that Sheikh Jassim’s father owns, reports that the Qataris have been successful in their bid to purchase Manchester United.”
Sheikh Jassim on Friday submitted his final take-or-leave bid for Manchester United, five months after the first bid was submitted.
His major rival was British millionaire and founder of Ioenos group, Sir Jim Ratcliffe who was understood to have submitted bid for partial ownership.
