A student of Premium Breed Secondary School, Nnewichi Nnewi, Anambra State has emerged as the overall best in Chemistry in Anambra.
As a result, he has become one of the six finalists to represent Nigeria at the 2023 International Chemistry Olympiad holding in Switzerland.
Nwadinobi competed with students from over 600 schools in Anambra to emerge as one of the finalists to represent the country.
In his speech, Nwadinobi attributed the achievement to God, his teachers and his dedication to studies.
Welcoming the team in her office at the State Secretariate Complex Awka, on Friday, the state Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, restated Nwadinobi’s feat was a demonstration of the State Government’s unwavering commitment to providing Anambra students with every opportunity to excel academically at both national and international levels.
Chuma-Udeh commended Nwadinobi and the School for their outstanding performance while emphasising the importance of continued dedication and hard work.
She enjoined them not to rest on their laurels as the state would eagerly anticipate an outstanding performance at the Olympiad.
In his remark, the Education Secretary, Anglican Diocese of Nnewi, Ven Henry Nduka JP, said the feat was a testament to the present administration’s commitment to nurturing and promoting academic excellence among its students.
The Principal of the School, Canon Nwajide, thanked the state government for providing the enabling environment for the Anambra education sector, adding that at the state level of the competition, the school clinched the first three positions.
