Court Verdict: Osun People’s will survived anti-masses plot of powerful forces – Adeleke

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reacted to his victory as Supreme Court affirmed his emergence at the July 16, 2022 governorship election in the state, describing it as surviving “anti-masses plots of powerful forces.”

Ede, the country home of the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke went agog as residents took to major streets of the town to celebrate victory on Tuesday.

The celebration which saw inhabitants of the community including members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a joyous mood, threw many of them into prayer sessions to appreciate what God has done on the outcome of the state election.

A resident, who identified himself as Adesola Adelabu described the judgement as a long awaited one because, according to him, Senator Adeleke won convincingly in the last governorship election in the state.

He however appreciated the apex job for the judgement he described as objective and unbiased, charging the court to keep the tempo flying.

Adesola, who called all and sundry in the state to rally round the new administration in the state with their support, stated that with their cooperation, greater things would be achieved in the state.

In Osogbo, the jubilation was equally witnessed among some residents and state government workers.

At the state secretariat, workers were seen in jubilant mood celebrating the victory as they claimed that since Governor Adeleke’s inception in office, their entitlements are being given priorities.

In his acceptance speech, Osun state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke dedicated the victory to the Almighty God, saying the state power is of God and he bestowed it on whoever he wishes.

“I will remain God’s driven, divinely inspired, I will govern with the fear of God. Our governorship is an affirmation that we are for the people, by the people. “

“This is an historic landmark in the history of Osun politics. Today is the day, our God ordained to stand his authority as the owner and giver of power.

“Today is that moment when the will of the people ordained by God survived an anti-masses plot of powerful forces. We therefore celebrate God almighty.

“As a moral compass, affirming the integrity of my lord justice, your affirmation for the truth and peoples will, consolidate and strengthen our democracy.

“On behalf of Osun people, we appreciate you and adore your love for justice and equity. “

“To all stakeholders in the Osun project, be assured that the revalidation of our mandate is a challenge, a call to duty, a fresh demand for more dividend of democracy.”

“I commit myself to more expanded delivery of good governance, in me you will find a true pro people governor.”

“I seek the support of all Osun residents and citizens, irrespective of party affiliations. This is our state and we must join hands to develop it.”

“My appreciation goes to my family. My wives, Titi and Ngozi and children. To all Imole in Nigeria and abroad. Thank you for standing by me. I want to thank my brother and sister. “

“My people of Osun State, the good job continues, we wrap up the implementation of our five points agenda. We shall focus on grassroot development.”

“We shall embark on agricultural revival of our dear state. Our policies shall fight poverty, insecurity, unemployment and underdevelopment. You shall truthful feel and enjoy the dividend of democracy”, he stressed.

Meanwhile, all strategic places in the state were manned by security operatives to ensure peace and orderliness reigns in the state.
