Presidential candidate of Labour Party in the last election, Peter Obi has denied ever visiting the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu at Defence House, Abuja.
There had been a trending photo on social media with Obi, Tinubu and others at Defence House.
But Obi, in an interview on Arise TV on Monday night, said “I have never visited him (Tinubu), these are some of the things I have been telling you, they have turned the whole thing into a joke.
“What we need now is how are we going to crush this? if I am not labelled a tribal bigot, it is another. I did not visit anybody. My followers are saying they remain steadfast,” he said.
Obi also denied that he was arrested by immigration at the Heathrow Airport recently.
“In any country in the world, I have never for any reason found myself in any manner of being questioned, it was a routine immigration check, just for about 20 minutes and I was given all the due respect by the border personality that interviewed me who told me ‘your identity is duplicated,’ be careful, and he actually had to walk me through, actually what I can call the VIP process and everything and I have a written document from the British Government clarifying the issue,” he explained.
