Yoruba Traditionalists’ Leader Dies While Searching For Kidnapped Wives In Osun

THE police in Osun State have confirmed the death of a traditionalist, the Oba Ogboni Agbaye and Awise Iwase of Yorubaland, Oba Adetoyese Olakisan, at Imesi-Ile in Obokun LGA.

Police spokesperson in the state, SP Yemisi Opalola, said Oba Olakisan died in a car crash while searching for his kidnapped wives.

Opalola explained that gunmen invaded Olakisan’s residence on Sunday and whisked away his two wives, following which the oba embarked on a rescue mission.

He said, “The Ogboni Agbaye and the police officer in charge of Oke-Imesi were in the vehicle with another woman when they had the accident. They were rushed to the hospital where they all died.

“Police operatives are, however, still inside the forest to rescue the kidnapped women.’’
