Kashamu’s 26-year-old wins Assembly in Ogun

Rasheed Buruji Kashamu, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, has emerged victorious in the House of Assembly elections for Ijebu North Constituency I in Ogun state.

The late Buruji Kashamu’s son secured victory in the poll conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday.

The outcome of the weekend election indicated that the PDP candidate garnered 7,107 votes, defeating his closest rival from the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 6,866 votes.

The 26-year-old Kashamu will become the youngest Ogun State House of Assembly member and the second-youngest in the country’s current dispensation.
