Lagos BRT-Train accident: Buhari laments as Sanwo-Olu declares special 3 days

President Muhammadu Buhari has described Thursday’s accident involving a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and a train as distressing.

 

 

 

The president, in a tweet, said the incident was extremely sad.

 

 

 

Buhari prayed for the souls of the deceased and the quick recovery of the injured victims.

 

 

 

He added that the prompt response of Lagos State authorities and the Nigerian governor’s agencies was commendable.

 

 

 

He wrote: “The accident at the level crossing involving a train and BRT staff bus is distressing and extremely sad. I pray for the souls of the deceased and quick recovery of the injured.

 

 

 

“The prompt response of Lagos State authorities and @NigeriaGov agencies is commendable.”

 

 

 

On Thursday six people were confirmed dead after a BRT collided with a train at PWD area of Ikeja, with 79 others injured in the accident.

 

 

 

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared three days of mourning and suspended his governorship campaign due to the accident. CONTINUE READING………………………………………..
