Panic as TikTok crashes globally

TikTok crashed on Thursday morning, leaving frustrated users around the world unable to access the popular video app.

According to DownDetector, a website which monitors such outages, the problems started at around 09:40 GMT (04:40 ET).

Almost 3,000 complaints have been logged about the app, which is owned by Chinese firm ByteDance.

A total of 53 per cent of users having issues reported problems with the app itself, 32 per cent with their feed and 15 per cent with their server connection.

Users in cities across Britain have reported issues, including those in London and Bristol.

TikTok has not yet revealed a cause for the problem.

Last November the video app suffered an hour-long outage which affected thousands of users. (Dailymail)
