Igwe, a serving member who represents Port Harcourt 2 Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber, was reportedly arrested in the early hours of Friday morning in Port Harcourt.

According to reports, Igwe claimed that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, gave him the $500,000 to ensure his electoral success in Rivers state.

It was gathered that the police officers who arrested the lawmaker also recovered the sharing formula from his document, which they planned to the security and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Voice Air Media recalls that former PDP national chairman, Uche Secondus had expressed confidence that Atiku Abubakar would win Saturday’s 2023 presidential election despite opposition from Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike.
