Tribunal Verdict: Osun ALGON congratulates Oyetola, APC family

…as Council Chairmen seek God’s face for future electoral victories

The leadership and members of the Osun State Chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) have congratulated the immediate past Osun Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the victory recorded at the Osun Election Petition Tribunal last weekend.

The 69 Council Chairmen led by the ALGON Chairman, Abiodun Idowu on a congratulatory visit to Oyetola, expressed delight in God, the good people of the state and the loyalists of the party over the victory.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Idowu said the visit was to further give thanks to God over His divine mercy on Oyetola in particular, the leadership and members of the APC and the good people of the State.

He said the leadership and members of the Councils are firmly resolute to ensure victory for APC in the general elections.

“We are here to thank God and rejoice with His Excellency, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola over the Tribunal verdict. We thank God for His mercy over us so far and we pray Him to grant us more success in the future”, he added.

In his short remarks, Adegboyega Oyetola, expressed gratitude to the Council Chairmen for their steadfastness and forthrightness all along.

“I am happy to see you. I knew some of you came to me in Lagos where you said I should inform you when I was coming but I didn’t inform you, though deliberate. I commend you for your steadfastness.

“You will come back to your respective Councils. You are just on sabbatical leave. God is great. They have money, power and everything, but we thank God for His mercy over us. We thank Him for the success we made and we pray Him to continue to be with us and grant us more victories ahead.

“Don’t be panic about their violence. We know there is crisis here and there. You know it is their culture and trait. You know the number of people that have been injured and maimed, but don’t be intimidated, let’s continue to renew our trust in God.

“God has started it and we are assured that He will finish it and see us to the end. You are all aware that we have campaign this week. Let our mobilisation be powerful, let us mobilise and tell the whole world we are fully on ground. Let us make a statement that surely we are ready to deliver one million votes for Asiwaju and Shettima as earlier promised.

“I know you all have your PVCs, but please don’t limit yourselves at that, let your people continue to collect their PVCs. Kindly support our candidates across the state. God is on our side.

“As we are praying for our return, please let us ensure that we dominate the House because this is the only way to ensure that we have a smooth running of the affairs of the State”, Oyetola added.
