One person has been reportedly killed with many people sustaining injuries on Tuesday evening when Fulani and Hausa settlers engaged in a bloody clash at the popular Ogbese Market in Akure North Area of Ondo State.

It was gathered that the clash started on Tuesday evening and snowballed into a full blown crisis by Wednesday morning, leading to the burning down of several shops at the market.

According to PRECISION, source said the clash was ignited by a fight between the Fulani settlers and the Hausa community.

The reason for the clash could not be established at press time, as security operatives on ground could not speak on the matter.

The Ondo state Police Public Relations Officer, Funmi Odunlami Omisanya could not immediately speak on the incident.

Meanwhile, there’s calmness in Ogbese market as at press time, with the heavy security presence. But residents and traders could be seen in numbers lamenting about the incident.
