Pochettino wishes to contend in Champions league, if…

Former PSG Coach, Mauricio Pochettino disclosed that he wants to stay in the Champions League quest when he returns to team management after leaving PSG in the summer.

After a poor run as PSG’s manager in the French capital, Pochettino left the club in the summer. Inability to get the greatest performance from players like Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Neymar led to the Argentine’s departure from the team.

When he next holds the post of manager, he said that he would like to lead a team comparable to PSG.

Pochettino disclosed the information after being asked about his preferred next assignment; “Today talking about projects in football is very difficult,” he told Relevo.

“There are few lucky ones who can be involved in a project in the medium or long term, there is more and more demand and less patience in the clubs. The main objective is to win and at the same time create a structure that gives you a livelihood to maintain it.

“After being in a club with Mbappe, Messi, Neymar… It is normal that we seek to maintain the level, although that is the best. But yes, a club that gives you the chance to go for the biggest [prizes], like winning the Champions League.”

The former Spurs manager has made it clear that he will only accept a top position in the future, which accounts for his decision to pass on struggling Aston Villa.

Though it is unclear where that will be, the second half of the season is likely to make things more evident.
