Pandemonium, confusion as Prophetess commits suicide in Enugu

Pandemonium, Confusion and panic have taken the better part of the people of Igogoro Agu, Enugu-Ezike , Igbo-Eze North local government area of Enugu state following the alleged taking of own life by a young prophetess in the community.

Prophetess Anrhonia Odo Okwo, the Founder and General overseer of a prayer group ministry, Igogoro Agu community was said to have killed herself by hanging on a tree inside bush on Sunday evening.

An eye witness, John Apeh told the Newsmen that “the said victim was a Prophetess. She prayed for people regularly and got them delivered. In fact, she specialized in casting away stubborn demons from people’s life. How she decided to take her own life was a big surprise to all of us.”

Another eye witness, Christian Ugwu told our reporter that ” we were supposed to go see her on Sunday afternoon for a prayer program. When we went to her prayer ground, we couldn’t see her. We went back to our various houses only to hear later in the evening that Prophetess Anrhonia has killed herself by hanging on top of a tree. This is very bad. Too bad.”

Asked if she has complained of anything before the ugly incident, Mr. Ugwu stated that ” she never told us of anything. In fact, she was the one consoling people who were in difficulties. By virtue of her character and behavior, she should not complain of anything that can lead her to this ugly incident.”

Voice Air Media learnt that the late Prophetess was in her thirties and has been commanding some measure of respect, dignity and awe in the community before the unfortunate incident.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer Enugu state, Mr Daniel Ndukwe could not pick his call.

However, a senior police officer in Ogrute Divisional headquarters told our reporter that the incident is still under investigation. CONTINUE READING………………………….
