“A Rancour-free Process” – Siyan Oyeweso Commends OSIEC Over Osun LG Election

…as Oloyede, Olaleye laud peaceful conduct of election

Professor Siyan Oyeweso, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has commended the Osun Independent Electoral Commission, OSIEC, saying the process is a Rancour-free, peaceful and well organized local government elections.

Oyeweso who voted at Sekona ward 8 unit 5, Ede South East Local Council Development Area, on Saturday, also lauded residents of Sekona for trooping out en-masse to vote for their favorite candidate.

Addressing journalists shortly after casting his ballot along side Mr Nurudeen Olasunkanmi(Ward Chairman), Ahmed Adeyemi, Mr Fatai Olaleye Salau and Mr Wasiu Olaleye, Oyeweso who expressed his satisfaction about the exercise said “We are impressed with the turnout here as you can see all women and men on our left flank, and party men all exercised their franchise in today’s local government election.

Describing the exercise, Oyeweso said this is “A rancor free, violence free and an excellent expression of the will of the majority of the people.

“We in this ward have exercised our civic responsibility and we are pleased with the conduct of the election.

He also lauded OSIEC, presiding officers and all security agencies that engaged in the October 15 Osun local government election.

Also, chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for Ede South East LCDA, Olaleye Fatai Ishola assured the people of the council of an inclusive governance if he emerged the winner.

Ishola commended the residents of the LCDA for their peaceful conduct during the poll.

In another vein , the immediate past Chairman of Irepodun South Local Council Development Area Erin-Osun, who is also the chairmanship candidate of ,APC, Adekunle Oloyede applauded OSIEC for the orderly process of the conduct of the election.

Oloyede noted that election materials of arrived to all polling units in the LCDA at the appropriate time.

While speaking about Osun APC, Oloyede said ” The level of turnout of electorate of this LCDA showed that people of this council still believe in democratic system of our party.”

Voice Air Media learned that the local government election, being conducted by the State Independent Electoral Commission, barely a month to the end of the tenure of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola-led administration, carried out at the 30 local government areas.
