Lagos governorship: Jandor, other opponents are noise makers – Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday kicked off his second term governorship bid campaign at Ehingbeti Summit, saying that his opponents are noise makers.

The Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in Lagos, Olajide Adediran popularly known as Jandor is seeking to overthrow him in 2023 and has always been attacking Sanwo-Olu.

But Sanwo-Olu said they are noise makers seeking for attention and that they would be roundly defeated.

The governor, who declared the summit closed on Wednesday evening said today is the day the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had chosen for governorship campaign to begin.

He described the day as a better one since it coincided with the Ehingbeti Summit, which enabled him to showcase what he had done.

Sanwo-Olu stated that he believed Lagosians would do the right thing in ensuring a second term for him through their votes.

In his words: “Today is the day that INEC did an official flag off. And there is no better time for me to do my official flag off than at the economic summit like this where we are talking about our city, our people, the Greater Lagos. What we are talking about is real; people can feel and see it.

“People can come and make claim to anything. Some candidates would go about and make a lot of noise. They don’t even know what governance is all about. We have done a lot and people can feel it. People know this is government that works for them.

”It is not about us; it is really to create that enabling environment for them to do well. Lagos State has witnessed prosperity in the last three and half years even in the COVID environment and that is the trajectory in which we want to continue.

”So, tell the noise makers that after the noise, there would he calm and Lagosians will truly understand what we are talking about.” CONTINUE READING…………………
