Residents Agog As Osun CSDA Assisted Communities To Construct Modern Projects In Rural Settlements

The Osun Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) has commissioned modern micro projects in rural settlements in Osun State.

It was therefore, cheery for indigenes of the town on Tuesday in Elemo community, Ogburo community, Bode-Osi community, Ogburo community in Iwo West LCDA; Ajagba, Elepo in Ola-Oluwa local government, the General Manager of Osun CSDA, Mrs Funmi Abokede, said: “The intervention of the CSDA through World Bank-assisted intervention and Governor Gboyega Oyetola is aimed to inspire rural transformation through provision of basic infrastructural facilities to communities”

The manager, Mrs. Funmi Abokede, said CSDP has continued to live up to expectations in project development, in which the community people also contribute 10 per cent, in line with the counterpart funding tradition to execute projects and encouraged them to monitor the projects and always make sure it is in good conditions.

Mrs Abokede congratulated communities who benefited from the agency’s largely fund projects.

Reactions

It was a lift from their burdens as Osun CSDA came to their rescue, Residents had desperately longed for potable water in their communities for drinking, cooking, laundry, household chores and other daily essential uses..

“We thank God, Osun CSDA, Mr Governor and the World bank for assisting in this project, This project is a remarkable one and laudable for the people of Ajagba.

“Ajagba community has been suffering from portable water supply over the years, this project will cushion the effect on the people, it will be beneficial both economically and socially.

“We thank all hands who partake in ensuring the success of this project and we pray to see more of this in our community,” Babatunde Aminu, Aged Mother of Three, others said.

One of the headmaster, Mr Bello Musuliu who also spoke to the Newsmen said, “On behalf of the pupils as well as the teachers, I thank Mr Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for the construction of new blocks.

While delivering the appreciation message, the headmaster pleaded to government for more classrooms as the present one can’t accommodate all the students and “we are also in need of more teachers, he said.

Also, speaking during the commissioning of one of the school building at D.C Primary School Elemo, the traditional ruler of Akala community, Alabi Oyewole who is also an alumnus of the school showed profound gratitude to the agency and Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

The Monarch said the rehabilitation and upgrading of D.C Primary School block of two classroom would improve the learning of their wards immensely.

“I appreciate all the bodies who has invested so much in Education, Coming up with this program will allow children access to quality education nearest to them, it will be difficult for children to move from here to Iwo to attend classes as it is about 7km journey. Without mincing word it has impacted positively in the life of our people and it is part of the agenda of Mr Governor in the area of development.

“They should setup a community committee to maintain, monitor and take care of the borehole. If there is any fault they can be able to provide adequate response, repair and not run to government. We have done training and advise them how to use the borehole.”

“The progressive government in our state, especially this present administration led by Gboyega Oyetola are working assiduously for the betterment of the state. In the last three or four month we engage about 1500 teachers and in few weeks to come, we are bound to see recruitment exercise coming to conclusion. In the area of insecurity the government will collaborate with the people of this environment in making sure that they do not encourage any atom or act of in security within their territory.”

The Micro project is endorsed by Osun state government under the Osun Cares (Osun CARES DLI 1.4) from world bank assisted intervention which is starting from 27th September to 6th October 2022.

In the address speech delivered by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, who was represented by the Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Adesegun Olanibi expresses his joy towards the commissioning of the project.

According Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic down the economic status of the state.

He then appreciates those who believe in his government in restoring the state and furthering its development

The Governor’s word reads in part;
“Today’s event marks another milestone in the quest of our Government to build a vibrant State where social infrastructures are within the reach of every citizen of the State, “as well as alleviating poverty in the aftermath of COVID-19 Pandemic, which left in its trail Economic Hardship, Health, and Educational Challenges among others.

“Before I end, my address, I must thank you all for cooperating with this Government.

I enjoined you to continue and maintain peaceful co-existence at all times, Mr Governor added.

Voice Air Media gathered that the community which is struggling with electricity supply was also given generator to power the borehole project by the agency.
