Oladebeye lamented that polytechnics are currently losing their best staffs owing to the retirement age issue and said that lecturers should be permitted to work till the age of 70 in order to support the growth of education in the nation.

According to him, “I recommend that the retirement age for chief lecturers at the Nigerian polytechnics should be the same as the university professors since they still have a lot to contribute to the development of their institutions and the education sector at that age.”

He commended Olorunoje as a very attentive, devoted, and modest administrator who worked hard for the polytechnic’s expansion and added that the organization would continue to gain from his riches and unrivaled knowledge.

Oyedokun Abiodun, national president of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti Alumni Association, stated that Olorunoje was being honored for what he represents, his excellent lineage, and his integrity both inside and outside of the institution.
