The Roundup (2022): Movie Review
Plot: The Beast Cop Is Back!
Followed by Ma Seok-do, who heads to a foreign country to extradite a suspect. However, he discovers additional murder cases and learns about a killer who had committed crimes against tourists for many years.
Review: Roundup is a sequel, to 2017’s ‘The Outlaws, the Roundup ups the ante by dishing out one of 2022’s greatest mixture of punches, chuckles, beatdowns, and laughter.
The movie depicts the journey to Ho Chi Minh City made by Ma Seok-do and his commander Jeon Il-man to pick up a suspect for extradition.
The serial killer Kang, who preys on Korean tourists and kidnaps businessmen to feed his murderous habit, turns out that someone else was also seeking him.
It takes little time for Ma and Jeon to oppose their superiors and the Vietnamese government to bring Kang in.
It appears that his most recent victim hailed from a family with mob connections, and as a result, his father sent a group of enforcers to kill Kang.
All of this leads back to Korea, where Kang pursues the mob boss who sent the hitmen after him and the police see an opportunity to kill both of them at once.
Ma tries to diffuse a hostage situation by sneaking up on the kidnapper brandishing a knife, but he accidentally knocks over some bookcases and gives himself away.
On the road to The Roundup’s last battle, prepare yourself for a gory elevator brawl, a car chase through Seoul, and other random mayhem.
HIT: The movie maintain a balance between Action and funny comedic scene.
