He said, “We are glad to report the arrest of 8 Shila boys and 23 other criminal elements following diligent, tactical and intelligence-driven dusk to dawn raid of criminal hideout in the state.

The 31 suspects being paraded today are involved in various crimes including culpable homicide, domestic violence, rape, causing grievous hurt, criminal conspiracy, and kidnapping among others.

Akande told newsmen that the suspects were arrested by the police operatives drawn from Crack Squad, Special Rapid Squad, Criminal Investigation Department and personnel from the various Divisional Police headquarters in the state.

He disclosed the success of his men in fighting crime has been tremendous while vowing to sustain the tempo in reducing crime to the nearest minimum by beefing up periodic police patrols.

Akande who promised residents would soon heave a sigh of relief from the activities of dreaded Shila boys because investigations to unearth those behind the Shila boys has since commenced.
