Osun 2022: Why we’re joining forces with Accord – SDP members

Members of the Social Democratic Party in Osun State have declared their support for Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, the governorship candidate for Accord party.

This newspaper learnt that the SDP members, who were from all local government areas of the state, converged in Osogbo on Wednesday to officially endorse Ogunbiyi as their governorship candidate for July 16th 2022 Election.

Shortly after the meeting, the party Chairman, Elder Femi Awe said, on the decision of SDP members to be in collaboration with Accord Party in the Forthcoming Election.

Elder further said the party leaders have decided to join hands with Ogunbiyi to move Osun forward, describing him as a man with solution to Osun problems.

Femi gave their reasons as to which they won’t be inaugurating Mr Goke Omigbodun, “giving the reasons that omigbodun was only being planted by agents of other political parties”.

“Omigbodun has never discussed with me that he wants to be a governor of Osun State. We were looking for someone to replace him because he was only planted by agents of some other political parties. That was when we solicited for Dr Akin Ogunbiyi”,he said.

The factional chairman of SDP in Osun State also used the meeting as an avenue to seek the support of Osun people for Ogunbiyi, “as he is a man with solutions to Osun Problems”.
