Full Speech: NANS Inaugurates 2022 National Convention Planning Committee

Posted on June 6, 2022

By One Class

Comrade Ahmed AGBABIAKA (Agbah), the NANS National Convention planning committee chairman delivered an acceptance speech in Abuja on Sunday, 5th of June, 2022.

The following is the text of the inauguration address:

Acceptance speech by the Chairman, NANS National Convention planning committee CPC 2022. (05.06.22)

Dear comrades, I would like to use this medium to welcome you today as members of the NANS national convention planning committee (CPC)2022 and also congratulate you all for making this historic list.

2. As you are aware, we have been tasked with the Constitutional responsibility of organising a top notch convention that would herald the successes of the Revolutionary administration and usher in a new one for the NANS at the national level; A task that we must successfully accomplish. This is so, because I believe that individually and collectively, you are all going to join me and the highly cerebral Secretary Barr. Com. Tochukwu (OO), the Vice-chairman, the ASG/CAO and the other experienced functionaries of this auspicious committee to bring it to fruition. Hence, you are expected to bring forth your organizational, professional and administrative experiences to bear.

3. I would like to commend the national leadership of NANS, ably lead by the Revolutionary President Comrade Sunday Dayo ASEFON for walking their talk and ones again, making NANS the cynosure of all eyes. With the legislative cooperation of the Revolutionary Senate President, Comrade Chucks Okafor, they were able to return NANS back to campus. Among many other achievements, their administration was able to birth a *constitution* for the organization after decades of endless trials. As the grundnorm, the new constitution would serve as our legal framework and guide in carrying out our assignments. In it, are basic rules and regulations that would help ease our activities through out the process. It is therefore imperative for all the CPC members to get a copy of the constitution and get acquainted with the provisions therein.

4. I want to specifically congratulate the students’ Union presidents, JCC Chairmen, Zonal cordinators and other current students’ leaders who are very much still active on the field, representing their respective constituents and who perhaps are going to be attending the NANS national convention for the first time, also as members of the CPC. Please, do not hesitate to ask questions and contribute your quota as you would all be assigned with various responsibilities just as the relatively experienced cadres.

5. Moving forward, we are all expected to conduct ourselves with utmost decorum and regards in all our engagements. Many here would be sacrificing their time, resources and energy just so this committee can deliver on the given Mandate and for NANS to continue to flourish. The best we can do for one another is mutual respect. It is not a crime to have an interest or to represent one but you would be crossing a redline if you allow same to overshadow your official responsibility as a member of this committee. I would react accordingly and appropriately to any misconduct.

Finally, we welcome progressive suggestions on specific and general matters as we are open to learning and advise from all.

I thank you all.

Yours in Struggle,

Com. Ahmed AGBABIAKA (Agbah)

Chairman, NANS National CPC 2022.
