Osun 2022: Governorship Candidate, Lasun Yusuff reveals why he left APC

Ahead of July 16th gubernatorial election, the former deputy speaker and governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Osun State, Rt. Hon Lasun Yusuf replying to a question about why he left his former party, he said, “We suffered so much to create this party, but the strangers are now claiming to know better than the founders, these strangers are scattered all over the country both at the local, state, and national levels, the founders no longer know anything about the party.

“They no longer involve us in the discussion about the party, they don’t want the smallest part of our ambition to be realized, so it was at this I decided I have to leave the party”

“The Apc party is dead, but it is still relevant because of its past glory, three weeks ago a senator representing Buhari’s senatorial district left APC to PDP, Yesterday 15th of May 2022 15 house of assembly members in kano left APC to a new party,” Yusuf Lasun said.

Lasun also said that “if you could recall the wins we had in 2015 and 2019, 50 to 55% belongs to Buhari alone, The whole of the southwest had about 150,000 vote difference between APC and PDP for the presidential election, people have also forgotten that the difference between APC and PDP for the presidential election is just 10,000 votes, so the stats shows that APC is crumbling and are no longer the party we all know them to be.

The ex-speaker further said, Those saying APC party is a popular party in the southwest is a big lie It is only in one state in the southwest that no other party has not ruled since 1999.

Lasun Yusuf poured out his anger on the former governor of the state Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for always going against his intention in becoming governorship candidate of the ruling party, APC.

Lasun Yusuf made this known during an interview on a popular radio program on Monday morning, 16th May 2022, monitored by a Voice Air Media correspondent, said he still does not understand why the former Governor, Rauf Aregbesola has been the only person who blocks him anytime he wishes to contest as a governor in the party.

He continued by recalling how the incumbent minister, Aregbesola led factors and also used all his resources to block him from becoming the Deputy Speaker during his tenure at the National Assembly Abuja before he emerged as one with the help of his people and Almighty God.

Former deputy speaker, Lasun Yusuf told the journalist on the said radio program that although he has become the flag bearer of the Labour Party in July 16 governorship election, he still has questions to ask Aregbesola whenever he sees him, on why he chose Adeoti against him in his camp.

“I know the terrain and I know what am coming to do, I’m here to create an economy no one has ever done, said Rt. Hon Lasun.
