Good News As Idanre To Get College of Forestry Management and Tourism

The establishment of the Federal College of Forestry Management and Tourism has been approved by House of Representatives on Thursday in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Bill for the establishment of the college was sponsored by the member representing Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency of Ondo State, Tajudeen Adefisoye.

The bill had earlier passed through the first and second readings before it was sent to the Committee on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions for consideration.

The bill for an Act to establish the Federal College of Forestry Management and Tourism, Idanre, Ondo State was laid before the Committee on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions on February 24, 2022.

Chairman of the committee, Dan Agundi, reported during Thursday’s plenary that all recommendations therein contained in the bill have been approved.

The House order of proceedings for Thursday, April 7, 2022, read, “That the House do consider the Report of the Committee on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions on a Bill for an Act to Establish Federal College of Forestry Management and Tourism, Idanre, Ondo State and for Related Matters ( HB, 687) and approve the recommendations therein” (Laid 24/2/2022).

Moreso, the approved Bill will thereafter be sent by the House of Representatives to the Senate for its concurrence approval.

Meanwhile, the sponsor of the Bill, Tajudeen Adefisoye, expressed happiness that his desire for the establishment of Federal College of Forestry Management and Tourism in Idanre was fast becoming a reality.

“Approval of this Bill is definitely a dream come true for me. This effort is expected to attract federal government presence to Idanre and by implication open up the economy of the agrarian town. Aside the expected creation of job opportunities for my constituents, establishment of this college will equally help to maximally utilize the huge agricultural and tourism potentials of Idanre,” Adefisoye said.
