How Ogun state Pastors Killed Church Member During Fellowship

The Ogun State police Command has arrested one Chidi Samuel and his accomplice Paul Zakari for allegedly killing a youth in their church.

The two suspects Pastors who according to reports, co-founded a Christian fellowship group, Life Builders Network, lured their victim, Favour Okumazor and others into an isolated area in Oyan village, Imala, in the Abeokuta-North area of the state.

A police report explained further that the suspects separated the youths numbering about seven away from their parents in the guise of conducting a Bible study and fellowship.

The self-acclaimed cleric’s evil scheme, however, leaked after one of the victims who escaped told his parents who immediately reported the incident to the police.

It was gathered that Samuel and Zakari were among 15 suspected criminals paraded at the Police Headquarters on Monday for various crimes, including armed robbery, murder, kidnapping, among others.

Speaking while parading the suspects in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, said they were arrested in different parts of the state.

The Police boss said his men recovered various weapons from the 15 suspects during their arrest in March, 2022.

Bankole further explained that a murder suspect, Saheed Ogundahun, was arrested on March 13, for allegedly killing a Fulani herdsman with a Dane gun and burying him on his farm in Ewekoro.

He explained that the corpse was exhumed and taken to the Ifo General Hospital’s mortuary for an autopsy.

Bankoke said, “On credible intelligence, one Saheed Ogundahun, a hunter, was arrested in connection with the case.

“On interrogation, the said Saheed confessed that he shot the victim to death and buried him in the bush.”

The command also paraded two notorious kidnappers, Sulaimon Mohammed, 40, and Jato Bello, 40.

Bankole, however, noted that his men were neither involved nor carried along by relatives of kidnap victims in the payment of ransom.

Bankole described kidnap cases as sensitive, adding that the police were always careful to ensure the safety of victims first.

“The issue of payment of ransom, when victims are kidnapped, to the best of my knowledge, if ransoms are paid, it is not to the knowledge of the police,” Bankole said. CONTINUE READING….
