Accept Defeat, Join Us In Developing Kano — Ganduje To Shekarau Faction

Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has called on the Senator Ibrahim Shekarau-led faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to accept defeat and join the appeal court-recognised leadership of the party to move the state forward.

Ganduje made the call Sunday, when he hosted the leadership of the party across the 484 wards in the state, at the Coronation Hall of the government house.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja had on Thursday quashed the lower court judgment which gave Senator Ibrahim Shekarau’s G-7 faction of the APC in Kano victory and declared the Governor Umar Ganduje-led factional executive as the authentic leadership.

But Shekarau’s G-7 faction announced its decision to head to the Supreme Court.

Ganduje said his faction and that of Shekarau were from the same parents, explaining that by coming together, they could move the state and the party forward.

The governor said, “Kano being the most popular in terms of voting is the hub of every candidate and is regarded by all. That is why we experience challenges from time to time. But this time around, the court has ended it all.

“I want to call on our brothers, our colleagues, the G-7 to come back and let’s build our party together. Our doors are always open for anybody that wants to join the party from anywhere as we are set to secure victories at any level of the coming elections.”

Ganduje said despite the struggles to secure victory and win the party back, his administration has not relented on the good projects it has been doing for the state, assuring that he is committed to doing more, especially in the rural areas.
