A group of approximately five gunmen in Edo State are said to have abducted an expatriate worker for Hartland Construction Company, killing his police orderly in the process.
The incident happened on Monday evening in Idegun Community of Anwain clan, Etsako West Local Government Area, Edo State.
According to reports, the expatriate worker, whose country of origin is unknown, was monitoring the continuing construction of the Anwain-Idegun road, which was granted by the state government, when he was taken.
The armed men were said to have emerged from the bush, shot sporadically, killing the police orderly on the spot, before picking the victim and fled into the bush.
The police personnel were said to arrived later to evacuate the remains of the body.
Meanwhile, the local vigilantes are said to have commenced bush-combing, in search of the victim.
The State Police Command spokesman, SP Kontongs Bello, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
