Man U apologise for sacking manager

Manchester United have expressed regret at sacking David Moyes as the club’s manager.

The club, according to an insider, Jim White, said they feel responsible for the Scot’s failed tenure at Old Trafford.

Moyes signed a six-year contract with Manchester United, and officially took up his managerial position on 1 July 2013.

The former Everton boss was hand-picked as manager by Sir Alex Ferguson and after his appointment, a banner reading “The Chosen One” was displayed at Old Trafford.

He was, however, sacked just nine months later and is currently enjoying a career revival at West Ham.

White told talkSPORT: “Sources inside the football club have told Moyes that they didn’t give him the right structure to be successful and they believe it was their fault and not his.

“They believe it was the wrong time for Moyes to come to the football club.

“All these years later they’re saying it was them who let Moyes down and not Moyes letting United down.”
