Command Give Reports Over Five policemen, 38 Katsina bandits killed in 2021

The Katsina State Police Command on Thursday said it lost five officers in 2021 while combating crimes in the state.

 

 

 

The command further revealed that its operatives killed 38 bandits in various gun-battles in the year.

 

 

 

A spokesman for the command, SP Gambo Isah, stated this in Katsina at a press conference where three suspects alleged to have committed various crimes were paraded.

 

 

 

Some recovered items, including arms and ammunition, as well as motorcycles were displayed.

 

 

 

Isah revealed that in the outgoing year, the command arrested 999 suspects in connection with 608 cases.

According to him, 874 of the suspects were being prosecuted in various courts, while 12 were under investigation.

 

 

 

He also disclosed that the command arrested 65 suspected kidnappers, adding that 63 of them were charged to court and two were undergoing investigation.

 

 

 

“Two hundred and forty- four suspected cattle rustlers were also arrested, of which 230 suspects were charged to court, while 14 suspects are under investigation,” Isah added.

 

 

 

The police spokesman disclosed that operatives rescued 215 kidnap victims and recovered 1,243 domestic animals, among which were 867 cows,352 sheep, 24 goats and one donkey.

 

 

 

According to him, 246 suspects were arrested in connection with 195 reported cases of rape and unnatural offences.

Meanwhile, the three paraded suspects, Usama Tijjani, 31; Saifullahi Usman, 32; and Muhammed Ibrahim,30, were accused of fraud and kidnapping.

 

 

 

Isah said, “The fight against crime and criminality is dynamic and not an easy one. I urge you to continue to project the hard and good work of the police and other security agencies to the general public.”
